Online Resources

Online Resources Included with Enrollment

Oklahoma Virtual Preparatory Academy employs the latest tools in online instruction. Each student has access to the Learning Portal, an online student portal for access to instructional support and resources that are designed to enhance and reinforce learning, such as online lesson manuals, tutorials, and supplemental game-based activities.

In addition to live online classes, students have access to the following resources:

Britannica® School

Your child has access to a wealth of information through the multimedia resources located in this ad‑free online version of Encyclopedia Britannica. Interactive and engaging graphics, audio, games, and videos accompany many topics, allowing your child to explore content according to their learning level.

Britannica® World Atlas

The World Atlas allows your child to explore regions of the world through interactive Google Maps. Each country and major city contains additional resources where your child can read a summary, profile, or related historical highlights.

Computer Skills Lessons

The Oklahoma Virtual Academy instruction includes lessons in Computer Skills integrated into our curriculum. The Lesson Manual guides you and your child through interactive online lessons.

Students learn computer-based word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation skills using interactive lessons. The skills acquired in the lessons are then practiced through assignments in other subject areas. We have integrated the instruction so that your student does not learn new skills in isolation but develops an appreciation of how to apply and expand the new skills.

Instructional Presentations

In addition to the live, interactive classes, students have access to pre-recorded lectures in various subjects. These lectures, developed by the Calvert Instructional Design Team, reinforce instruction and allow for greater pacing flexibility.
